Maksym Kopanitsa is the Senior Research Manager of Synome Ltd. Maksym has extensive experience in electrophysiological assays acquired during 19 years of research into ion channel physiology and synaptic plasticity in academia and industry. His interest in neuropharmacology began after his undergraduate internship at Syntex (now Roche Bioscience) in Palo Alto, California and during his PhD studies at the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology (Kiev, Ukraine). Maksym has participated in contract electrophysiological research for several international pharmaceutical companies. Prior to his employment at Synome, Maksym was involved in electrophysiological study of a large set of mutant mouse strains at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (Cambridge, UK). At Synome, Maksym leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists with a considerable expertise in deciphering phenotypic effects of mutations using fluorescent imaging, electrophysiological recordings and behavioural tests.
